Ancient people's way of looking at time

The ancients invented many tools that can see time, such as sundial, guibiao and copper pot drip. Among them, sundials and guibiao distinguish time by the shadow of the sun, and copper kettles and leakages judge time by dripping water into the bucket and then judging time according to the water level.

1、 Sundial

The sundial uses the direction of the shadow cast by the sun to judge the time. Its base is usually round, the time is engraved on the periphery, and a stick is set up in the center of the circle. When the sun shines on the sundial, the shadow of the center stick corresponds to the time of the base.

2、 Guibiao

Like a sundial, a watch uses the shadow of the sun to see time. It is to erect a pole on the ground and calculate the corresponding time by measuring the length of the shadow of the pole.

3、 Copper pot drip

Copper pot drip, also known as engraved leakage and leaky carving, was originally composed of two pots. Two pots are placed up and down. The upper pot drips water into the lower pot. The water level of the lower pot corresponds to the current time.
