For skin contact with sodium cyanide, rinse with water or 5% sodium thiosulfate solution for more than 20 minutes. For eye contact with sodium cyanide, rinse with water or normal saline for more than 15 minutes. If swallowed accidentally, induce vomiting and wash stomach after drinking enough warm water.
Sodium cyanide is white granules and powder in appearance, and has a little taste of bitter almond. It is highly toxic. If it is contacted by skin wounds, or accidentally inhaled or swallowed, it can cause poisoning and death.
If our skin comes into contact with sodium cyanide, we should immediately take off the clothes contaminated by sodium cyanide, then wash the skin in contact with sodium cyanide with clean water or 5% sodium thiosulfate solution for more than 20 minutes, and seek medical treatment immediately.
If the eyes come into contact with sodium cyanide, immediately flush the eyes with clean water or normal saline for more than 15 minutes, and see a doctor as soon as possible. If you accidentally swallow it in the mouth during contact, drink enough warm water to induce vomiting and wash your stomach.
