Can I check in when my ID card expires

As long as the ID card expires no more than 3 months, you can check in normally. However, if the time is too long, you need to go to the self-service window of the railway station to check in the temporary ID card. It is recommended that you go to the local police station of your registered permanent residence to apply for a new ID card within 3 months after the ID card expires.

Generally speaking, the ID card can continue to be used as long as it expires no more than 3 months, so you can enter normally during ticket check-in. However, if it takes a long time, you need to apply for a temporary ID card at the self-service window in front of the railway station, or prove your identity with household register and medical port.

If the ID card has expired, it is recommended to go to the local police station where the registered permanent residence is located to re declare and receive a new ID card within 3 months, otherwise the public security organ will cancel the information of the ID card after the expiration of the validity period of the ID card, so it can not be used normally.

Therefore, if the ID card expires and you want to enter the station to take the high-speed railway, you need to apply for a temporary ID card. The function of the temporary ID card is the same as that of the ID card, but it is time-effective and will be useless in about three months.
