Master Shenzhou won Hall of fame Award for his outstanding contribution

Former title: academician Qi Faren, chief engineer of Shenzhou won the "Hall of fame" award of IAF in 2019

4hw.org and reporters learned from China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation that at the 2019 IAF, academician Qi Faren, 86, won the hall of fame award of this year. The award aims to recognize scientists who have made outstanding contributions to the promotion of space science and technology.

Academician Qi Faren is the first chief designer of China's Shenzhou spacecraft, one of the main technical directors of China's first artificial earth satellite, dongfanghong-1, academician of the International Academy of Astronautics and academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering. As a well-known Chinese space technology expert and leader of satellite engineering technology, he has made important contributions to the development of China's space technology over the years, and laid a foundation for cooperation between the international aerospace industry and China in the field of space technology.

This is the second time that experts from China Academy of space technology won IAF Hall of fame award after Academician Wang Xiji won the medal of "two bombs and one star".
