Chongqing fans will be able to watch the Asian Cup at home again. On December 28, China Football Association announced that Chongqing, together with Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xi'an, Dalian, Qingdao, Xiamen and Suzhou, will jointly host the 18th Asian men's Football Cup in 2023.

The 18th Asian men's football cup will be held in China from June to July 2023. As the highest level and most influential football event in Asia hosted by AFC, there are 24 teams participating in the event, and 51 high-level matches will be held.

Chongqing daily learned that according to the "evaluation report on China's bid for hosting the 2023 Asian Cup" released by the Asian Football Association, Chongqing will host the group match and a quarter final, and all matches will be held in the Liangjiang football match center under construction. The competition center, built by Liangjiang investment group, has a net capacity of 44000, a total capacity of 46800, 920 VIP seats and 380 media seats. It is under construction and is expected to be completed in 2022.
