On November 5, Weilai automobile announced a strategic cooperation with Mobileye, an auto driving technology company under Intel. Both sides will build L4 level automatic driving models based on the second generation vehicle platform of Weilai, and Weilai will become the first brand to realize L4 level automatic driving in the world.
Mobileye official said the integrated Mobileye automatic driving system will be released as early as 2022.
In addition, Weilai and Mobileye will also cooperate in the field of intelligent travel. On the basis of self driving mass production models, Weilai will create a special version for Mobileye, which will be purchased in batches.
Mobileye was founded in Israel in 1999, listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2014, and was acquired by Intel for $15.3 billion in 2017. At present, more than 40 million vehicles have been loaded with Mobileye system. The whole series of Weilai vehicles are equipped with Mobileye eyeq4 chip.
The cooperation between Weilai and Mobileye has a long history. In December 2017, Weilai es8 was officially released, becoming the world's first model equipped with Mobileye eyeq4 chip. This in-depth cooperation between the two sides will further expand the layout of both sides in the field of automatic driving and intelligent travel.
According to the sales data, the delivery volume of Weilai in October reached 2526, a new high in 2019, up 25% month on month, up 61% year-on-year; of which, 2220 were delivered in October in S6, up 28.6% month on month; 306 were delivered in es8, accumulating 8038 in the whole year; and 14867 were delivered in 2019.
In recent days, the good news of Yulai continued, and the stock price rose sharply. As of the closing of November 5, the US east time, the stock price of Yulai was up 36.84% to $2.34.
