Myopia correction should not be publicized. Can myopia be cured by reducing the degree?

For many children nowadays, it's really heartbreaking that they have worn thick lenses at a very young age. Recently, the State Health Commission, the central network information office, the Ministry of education, the State Administration of market supervision, the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine and the State Drug Administration jointly issued the "notice on further standardizing the correction of myopia in children and adolescents and practically strengthening supervision".

As for the existing problems of false and exaggerated publicity, the circular requires that institutions or individuals engaged in myopia correction for children and adolescents must strictly practice and operate in accordance with the law, and shall not mislead children and adolescents with myopia and their parents by using such expressions as' rehabilitation ',' recovery ',' reduction of degree ',' cure of myopia 'and' near vision killer 'in the publicity of myopia correction. It shall not, in violation of the provisions of the law of traditional Chinese medicine, falsely use the name of traditional Chinese medicine or borrow the theory and technology of traditional Chinese medicine to deceive consumers and seek illegitimate interests.

Recently, chaos in the field of myopia correction of children and adolescents occurs frequently, and the problems of false and exaggerated publicity are prominent, which seriously mislead the children and adolescents with myopia and their parents, and threaten the vision health of children and adolescents.

In view of the misunderstanding that myopia can be cured, Li SONGFENG, chief ophthalmologist of Beijing Tongren Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, said that children and adolescents with myopia can not be cured under the current medical technology. Children and adolescents can prevent, control and slow down myopia through scientific eye use, increasing outdoor activity time, reducing long-term close eye use and other ways.
