How to keep honey? Precautions and taboos for honey preservation

Honey is delicious but not easy to preserve, pure mature honey is not easy to deteriorate, but a lot of honey in the market is adulterated with many impurities, the following small edition will teach you how to properly preserve honey, what are the precautions for honey preservation?

How to keep honey

1、 Container material for honey preservation:

Honey has weak acidity. When it contacts with metal, it is easy to cause oxidation reaction. Metal ions such as iron, lead and zinc are separated out, which make honey black and its nutritional value will be destroyed. Some people eat this honey will appear nausea, vomiting and other toxic symptoms. Therefore, it is better to use non-metallic containers, such as ceramic, glass bottles, non-toxic plastic buckets and other containers to store honey.

2、 Storage conditions of honey:

1. Honey should be stored in a low temperature, dark place, dry, clean, ventilated environment with temperature of 5-10 ℃ and air humidity of no more than 75%.

2. The container for storing honey should be tightly covered. Honey has the ability to absorb water from the air. If honey absorbs too much water, its concentration will decrease and it is easy to cause fermentation deterioration. Therefore, the storage of honey cover tightly, prevent air leakage, reduce contact with the air, so that honey can be preserved for a long time. The best content of honey is 80% of the container. After taking honey every time, cover the container to prevent pollution.

3、 Preservation of honey:

1. Sealed storage

Generally, the honey eaten at home is filled, poured out a little when eating, and then sealed with a lid. This lid has no effective sealing measures, and the air and bacteria are easy to enter. So when choosing honey, you can choose the small can, eat it in a few days, or buy the small bag, eat one bag at a time. If you buy a big can unfortunately, it doesn't matter. Buy a roll of plastic wrap. Cover it first after eating each time, and then wrap the plastic wrap around the mouth of the bottle.

2. Heating to prevent fermentation

In hot summer, honey is easy to ferment at room temperature. In this case, honey should be placed in a glass container and heated to 63 ℃ ~ 65 ℃ for 30 minutes in a pot to prevent fermentation.

3. Ginger slices prevent deterioration

In order to keep the honey from deterioration and taste, you can put some ginger in the honey. The method is: choose pure honey without impurities, put it into a clean glass bottle or ceramic jar, then add a small piece of ginger to every 500g of honey, seal it and store it in a cool place, then put it for a long time without deterioration.

4. Cold water preservation

Another way to keep food is to keep it in cold water. Use a bag to pack the honey in the bottle. The seal should be tight and not leak. Then fill a basin of suitable size with water and put it in a cool place. Then put honey in it. If you live in the countryside and have a well, you can put honey into the well. The effect of preservation is much better. Honey will not crystallize.

4、 Precautions for honey preservation:

1. Good honey will crystallize under 15-18 ℃, and turn into white or light yellow crystal.

2. Honey storage may be simple, but this is relative to high-quality honey, which is easy to cause deterioration. So if you want to store honey, you must choose natural mature organic honey.

Note: if the honey is not mature, that is, the water honey we usually say, it should be refrigerated or kept fresh, otherwise it is easy to deteriorate! Remember not to mix any water into the honey, and using a wet spoon to get honey is easy to cause honey deterioration!
