What to do when a pregnant woman is bitten by a dog
Step 1: wound treatment
The wound should be treated immediately. Wash all the wounds or pruritus thoroughly with 20% soapy water or 0.1% Bromogeramine, wash repeatedly for at least 30 minutes, and then rub with 70% alcohol or 2% iodine.
Step 2: vaccination
Pregnant women must go to the county health and epidemic prevention station or local health center in time to inject human rabies vaccine. For severe bites, such as head, face, neck, hand or more than three parts, rabies serum should be injected on the same day, together with purified human rabies vaccine. The first injection was given immediately after the bite, and then one injection was given on the 3rd, 7th, 14th and 30th day respectively.
Precautions after vaccination
The incubation period of rabies is short for several days, long for several years and decades, generally 1-3 months. During rabies vaccination, avoid alcohol, strong tea and spicy irritant food, and avoid strenuous exercise. About 15 days after the whole course of rabies vaccine injection, go to the hospital and take 2ml of blood on an empty stomach to check whether there is antibody. If the test result is positive, it indicates that the antibody has been produced, which also indicates that the vaccine injection is effective. If no antibody is produced, one or two vaccines should be injected more intensively, and then blood tests should be conducted until antibody is produced.
