How to prevent rice pests in summer? Can rice be eaten after it is infested with insects?

it's summer again. If you have a lot of rice noodles at home in summer, you should be careful. So how to prevent rice pests in summer? The nutritional value of rice is relatively high, which can quickly supplement the energy needed by human body. However, if the rice is not well preserved in summer, it is easy to grow insects. What about rice raw insects in summer?

1. Refrigerate for 24 hours

If the insects are not serious, you can put the rice in the refrigerator freezer together with the bag, and take it out after 24 hours of freezing. At this time, the insects are frozen to death and become red and black, which is easy to pick up, and will not affect the original taste of rice.

2. Dry in a cool place

After rice is infested with insects, people often like to expose rice to the sun. This will not kill the insects, but it will backfire, because two or three days later, the insects in rice will increase unabated, and the taste of rice will be affected by the loss of water.

The right way is to put the raw rice in a cool and ventilated place, let the insects crawl out slowly, and then screen it.

3. Preservation of Zanthoxylum bungeanum

Zanthoxylum bungeanum is a kind of natural antioxidant, which not only has a special fragrance, but also has insect repellent effect.

The use method is as follows: put 20 to 30 prickly ash into the pot, add some water (it's better to be able to soak into the rice pocket) and put it on the fire to boil out the fragrance of prickly ash. Turn off the fire, put the rice pocket into the boiled prickly ash water and soak it in the water, take it out and dry it, then pour the rice into the pocket, so as to effectively prevent the rice from growing insects.

4. Kelp in Rice

In summer, rice is easy to grow insects. If kelp is put into rice, it can prevent and control borers. In general, one kilogram of kelp can be put into 100 kilogram of rice.

It has been proved that after one week, all kinds of bacteria in rice can be reduced by 60% to 80%, and 3% water can be absorbed. Dry the kelp once a week for 15 minutes and then put it in, so that there is no moth. One kelp can be used more than 15 times.

5. How to buy Rice

Look at the hardness: the hardness of big rice grain is determined by the content of protein. The stronger the hardness of rice, the higher the protein content, and the better the transparency. Generally, new rice is harder than old rice, low water rice is harder than high water rice, and late indica (japonica) rice is harder than early indica (japonica) rice.

Look at belly white: there is often an opaque white spot on the belly of rice. The white spot is called heart white in the center of big rice grain and outer white in the outer belly. The protein content of the white part of the belly is lower and contains more starch. Generally, the rice with high moisture content, immature and immature after harvest has a large white belly.

Look at the burst waist: the burst waist is caused by the imbalance between the inside and outside of the rice grains after the rice is heated rapidly during the drying process. When fried rice is eaten, it rots outside and grows inside, reducing its nutritional value. Therefore, when selecting rice, carefully observe the surface of rice grains. If one or more transverse cracks appear on the rice grains, it means that the rice grains are bursting.

Look at the yellow grain: the yellow grain is caused by the chemical reaction of some nutrients in the rice under certain conditions, or by the microorganism in the big grain. These yellow grains have poor flavor and taste, so when purchasing, we must observe how much yellow grains are.

Look at the new and old: the aging phenomenon of rice is more serious, the color of the old rice becomes dark, the viscosity is reduced, and the original flavor of rice is lost. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully observe the color of rice grains. The rice with grey powder or white furrow on the surface is aged rice. The more it is, the older the rice is. At the same time, pick up the rice and smell whether the smell is normal. If there is a musty smell, it means that it is chenmi. In addition, to see if there are insect eaten grains in the rice grains, if there are insect eaten grains and insect corpses, it also means that the rice is aged.

Look at the label: pay attention to the contents marked on the package when buying rice. For example, whether the product name, net content, name and address of the manufacturer and distributor, production date and shelf life, quality grade, product standard number and special contents are marked on the package.
