Wechat will charge for more than 5000 credit card repayments

After wechat charges for withdrawal function in March last year, wechat credit card repayment will also be charged from next month. So how to charge for wechat credit card repayment? What's the charging standard? Each person will charge 0.1% of the handling fee for the monthly accumulative repayment of more than 5000 yuan.

On November 7, Beijing business daily noted that wechat announced that since December 1, 2017, it will charge 0.1% for each user who has paid more than 5000 yuan for each natural month (at least 0.1 yuan). In the view of analysts, in addition to cost saving, wechat's move is more about keeping funds in Tencent system and exploring the business needs of social users.

Over 5000 yuan will be charged from next month

On November 7, the reporter of Beijing business daily noticed that wechat quietly posted the "instructions on wechat credit card repayment charging rules" in the column of "credit card repayment". It is stipulated that since December 1, 2017, each user will be charged 0.1% for the part of the cumulative monthly repayment amount exceeding 5000 yuan (minimum 0.1 yuan), and the part not exceeding 5000 yuan will still be free.

Specifically, there is no charge of any kind for each person's monthly accumulative repayment within 5000 yuan; multiple wechat accounts under the same ID card share the free amount of 5000 yuan per month; the service fee is paid together with the repayment amount when the user performs the repayment operation; in addition, when repaying for others, the free amount of repayment from the payer is occupied, and the free amount of repayment from the repayment party is not occupied.

It is understood that wechat credit card repayment is a third-party repayment platform jointly launched by Tencent TenPay and major credit card centers, which supports credit card repayment of 52 banks. At present, it is still free to pay credit cards with Alipay. In addition, the transfer and repayment business of mobile banking in many commercial banks is also free of charge.

In response to the above-mentioned charges, TenPay said in a reply to the reporter of Beijing Business Daily that every payment made by users will generate a channel handling fee, which TenPay has been subsidizing. With the rapid growth of credit card repayment business, the service charge of payment channel for subsidies has also increased significantly. In order to properly balance costs and sustainability, business rules will be adjusted.

In the opinion of analysts, the impact of wechat credit card repayment charges is not significant. Xue Hongyan, a senior researcher at Suning Financial Research Institute, said that according to the regulations, fees will be charged only when the repayment exceeds 5000 yuan. In real life, many people's repayment amount is not so large.
