The International Olympic Committee officially announced that the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in 2024 will be held in Paris, France. After losing to Barcelona, Beijing and London, Paris finally won the right to host again, becoming the second city to host the summer Olympic Games three times after London. The 34th Summer Olympic Games in 2028 will be held in Los Angeles, USA.

At the 131st plenary session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) held in Lima, Peru, on the 13th, it was finally decided that Paris will host the 2024 Summer Olympic Games and Los Angeles will host the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.
At the plenary session held on the same day, IOC members unanimously raised their hands to pass the tripartite agreement signed by the IOC, Paris and Los Angeles. Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee, announced that the International Olympic Committee will choose Paris and Los Angeles to host the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in 2024 and the 34th Summer Olympic Games in 2028.
After that, Bach, together with Huang Simian, member of the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee, signed the host city agreements for the 2024 and 2028 Summer Olympic Games with the chairmen of the Paris and Los Angeles Olympic bid committees and the mayors of the two cities respectively.

Bach once again stressed that this result is the result of the reform of the International Olympic Committee. Paris and Los Angeles are the first cities to benefit from the reform. It is a "three win" decision for the International Olympic Committee and the two cities to select the host cities of the two Olympic Games at the same time.
In addition to Paris and Los Angeles, Hamburg, Budapest, Rome and Boston were the first cities to bid for the 2024 Olympic Games. However, with the withdrawal of these cities, Paris and Los Angeles became the only two bidding cities. The IOC has decided that the two cities will host the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games respectively, but the order remains to be confirmed.
At the meeting of the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne on July 31 this year, Los Angeles accepted the proposal to become the host city of the 2028 Olympic Games. The Los Angeles City Council voted to approve the decision later, making Paris the only bid city for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. Since then, the 2028 Olympic Games evaluation committee also believes that Los Angeles meets all the requirements for hosting the games.
