The strongest flare of solar eruption what is the impact of solar flare on the earth

Four seas network: solar flare refers to the release of huge energy in the solar atmosphere, causing a large amount of heat in the region, and emitting various kinds of electromagnetic radiation. Recently, according to the science center of the national space station, the sun will have a x9.3-level flare in the near future, so what impact will the solar flare have on the earth?

On September 7, reporters learned from the National Center for space science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that at 7:53 p.m. on September 6, the sun erupted a x9.3-level flare, triggering solar proton events and coronal mass ejections. This is the strongest solar eruption since 2005, the first shot of a new round of solar storms.

This solar flare burst was caused by a sunspot group named ar2673. Since September 3, the sunspot group has erupted more than 10 solar flares in 5 days, among which the solar flare burst on September 4 was accompanied by coronal mass ejection, which directly led to the medium solar proton event.

At present, the intermediate solar proton events are still going on, which may strengthen again in the next two days. When the solar flare occurs, it will affect the short wave communication on the earth to some extent, but because the solar flare happened to happen at night in China, it has little impact on the short wave communication on the earth.

The coronal mass ejections associated with this solar flare eruption may arrive at the earth tomorrow night or the day after tomorrow, which will cause strong disturbances in the magnetosphere, the ionosphere and the upper atmosphere of the earth. This huge disturbance of the space environment may affect the performance and safety of the satellites and other vehicles operating in it. For example, the increase of the density of the upper atmosphere will increase the resistance of the satellite operation, thus speeding up the operation Satellite orbit decay; ionospheric storm may affect short wave communication and satellite navigation; hot plasma injection may cause satellite surface charging; high-energy electronic storm may cause satellite deep charging hazards.

In the next few days, the sunspot group, code named ar2673, is still likely to produce a large explosion. The Research Center for space environment prediction of the Chinese Academy of Sciences will continue to pay attention to and provide the latest prediction in time.
