The only significant eclipse in 2018

Sihai: many people have heard of and perhaps have seen Tianyu's partial birthday on the evening of August 11, 2018. At that time, northern Asia, most of the Arctic Ocean, North America and Northern Europe, including the northern part of China, will see the spectacle of "dog biting the sun". In addition, sunset with food can also be observed in the middle and east of China.

There are three kinds of solar eclipse: total eclipse, annular eclipse and partial eclipse. Among them, partial solar eclipse refers to the phenomenon that the moon blocks part of the sun's light from one side in some places on the earth.

According to Shi Zhicheng, member of the Chinese Astronomical Society and director of Tianjin astronomical society, there were three partial eclipses on the next day in 2018. This is the third solar eclipse this year and the only one that can be observed in China. The observation conditions are good.

The maximum score of partial eclipse in the next day was close to 0.74, but the location was in the area which was not easy to reach in the Arctic Ocean. In Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia in the west of China, although the eclipse score is only about 0.2, we can enjoy the whole process of the eclipse from initial loss to recovery. Shi Zhicheng said that in general, China's observation of this partial solar eclipse is more favorable, and the majority of astronomical enthusiasts should not miss the good opportunity of this observation.

It is understood that if we miss this partial solar eclipse, if the Chinese public wants to enjoy it again, it will wait until January 6, 2019. This time, the visible range is relatively wide and the observation conditions are very good.
