How to prevent bank card from being stolen

4hw.com.cn: the bank card is clearly on the body, but the money of the card may be gone? In the 30 cases of bank card theft and swiping appeals heard in the past two years, 26 cases of counterfeit card theft and swiping accounted for 87%. Criminals are stealing from other places, and most of them are in remote places. The security monitoring and ATM monitoring video system are not complete. What should I do if my credit card or bank card is stolen?

What should I do if I find my bank card stolen?

① Once stolen and swiped, the cardholder shall immediately call the customer service number of the bank to report the loss and ask the customer service personnel number so as to verify the situation in case of lawsuit in the future;

② After reporting the loss, it is necessary to give an alarm as soon as possible, and then go to the ATM nearby, put the bank card that has been reported lost into the machine, so that the card can be swallowed, to prove that the card owner and the bank card are not at the scene of stealing.

It's all bank card swiping, but the end is different

The bank card is stolen and swiped by other places late at night. As long as the alarm is timely, even if the bank does not acknowledge the account, it can often rely on the court to finally recover the loss. However, if someone swipes the card in person to transfer the money, it may not be able to recover the loss. Here are two different cases:

Case 1

In January, Mr. Song, who was in Beijing, received a bank message saying that his debit card had just been transferred and withdrawn more than 54000 yuan. Mr. Song immediately reported the loss, called the police, and operated the ATM machine nearby according to the police's prompt, which made the bank card be swallowed, and kept the operation voucher at the same time. Later, it was found that both transfer and withdrawal took place at ATMs in Maoming City, Guangdong Province. Mr. Song asked the bank to pay all the losses. Relying on the evidence retained after the incident, the bank refused, but the court finally supported Mr. Song's appeal.

The judge thought that in the case that Mr. Song won, only more than ten minutes was spent in issuing ATM cards, and no one could arrive in Beijing from Guangdong in more than ten minutes. At this reaction speed, it was very easy to identify "fake cards".

Case 2

In contrast, Mr. Yang's experience is more sad: he was sued by the bank for his default of over 100000 yuan of principal and interest on credit card overdraft. Mr. Yang said that in March 2012, a stranger in a bank uniform and Bank Logo came to the door and claimed to help him increase the credit card overdraft limit. Mr. Yang asked the person to record the card information and pay the service charge by swiping the card on the POS machine carried by the other party. Mr. Yang believes that the money is not what he consumes at all and that he should not repay it.

After the trial, the court found that this was because Mr. Yang easily disclosed the credit card information to others and used the POS machine with unknown origin to swipe the card, which was a failure to properly keep the credit card information. And his self-report alone is not enough to determine that the transaction must be stolen by others. The bank's appeal was ultimately supported.

How to prevent bank card from being stolen?

① When withdrawing money from ATM, pay attention to whether there is any difference between the bayonet and keyboard;

② Whenever and wherever, the bank card must be blocked;

③ It is better to replace the magnetic stripe card with a chip card.

④ Keep the mobile phone with bank card;

⑤ When using public WiFi, do not pay online, otherwise it is easy to disclose bank card information;

⑥ It is suggested to open the SMS reminder function of bank card to understand the account change in time.

Conclusion: now there are more and more incidents of stealing and swiping, and the card is copied every second. Cardholder friends should not only learn to protect their own card information, but also learn to deal with emergencies.
