The higher the nutrition, the better? NO! Six misunderstandings of high nutrition

With the rapid development of society, people pay more and more attention to the quality of life. The results show that nutrition can reduce the incidence of cancer by 30% - 40%. But in my work, I found that there is a common misunderstanding about nutrition. It's not that the higher the nutrition, the better. Let's take a look at it

Myth 1: more nutrition is important

In terms of species, we need more than 40 kinds of nutrients, some of which are more, some of which are less, some of which are recorded in gram, some in microgram. For example, protein needs 60-90 grams for ordinary people, and hundreds of grams for heavy manual workers. Calcium needs 800-1000 micrograms, iron 15-20 milligrams. But it's not that we need more, it's not that we need less? Of course not, for example, protein needs dozens of grams, it's an important component of our body, our immunity needs the support of protein; and 15 mg of iron deficiency will also form iron deficiency anemia, which will affect the development of children.

Myth 2: more nutrition is not better

'nutrition' cannot be lacking, but it is by no means the more the better. Take protein as an example to illustrate the importance of proper amount of 'nutrition'. If the protein intake of growing children is not enough, it will affect the normal development of height, weight and intelligence. So many people eat a little protein powder besides protein.

But in fact, more protein is not as good as possible. Eating more protein means waste and excess protein will be metabolized. In addition, excessive intake of protein increases the decomposition of protein in the body and the amount of nitrogen-containing substances excreted by urine, which will increase the load of kidney, accelerate the loss of calcium in bone and increase the risk of osteoporosis.

Misunderstanding 3: food is divided into good and bad

We often hear the opinions of some experts, dividing food into good and bad. Some of the food is said to be junk food, others are called omnipotent food. This is a very incorrect view. In terms of nutrition, we divide food into five categories: first, cereals and potatoes; second, animal food; third, cereals and nuts; fourth, vegetables and fruits; fifth, pure energy food. Each of them can provide the nutrients we need.

Myth 4: the more expensive the food, the better

The more expensive the food, the better. The energy provided by an egg is higher than that of an abalone, the protein content is almost the same, the fat and cholesterol content of an egg is higher than that of an abalone, the carbohydrate content of an abalone is more than twice that of an egg, the calcium, iron and selenium content of an abalone is much more than that of an egg, but the vitamin A, B1 and B2 in an egg are all more than that of an abalone, the niacin content is almost the same, and the vitamin C is neither. From the data, there is no big difference between the nutritional components of abalone and egg, but the content of individual nutrients is different, but the price difference is big. The price of an abalone can buy several jin of eggs, so the more expensive the food is, the more nutrients it provides.

Myth 5: the four legged is not equal to the one without legs

There is a popular saying: 'four legged can't compare with two legged, two legged can't compare with one leg, one legged can't compare with no leg'. Four legged refers to pigs, cattle, sheep, two legged mainly refers to chickens, ducks, etc., one leg refers to fungus food such as mushrooms, and other aquatic products such as fingerfish without legs. In fact, from the point of view of nutrition, four legged, two legged and legless foods are all animal food, with high protein content, similar iron content, high fat content in pork, which may not be very popular, but the content of vitamin B1 is higher than other kinds of food. Although mushroom is much lower in fat and energy, its protein, iron, selenium and vitamin a content are all less than the other three kinds of food.

Myth 6: high cholesterol in egg yolk

Many people are concerned about cholesterol. I found that many people around me don't eat egg yolk when they eat eggs. They think it will increase cholesterol. In fact, every organ of our body has cholesterol. Our internal cholesterol is 1000 mg, and the external cholesterol is 500 mg. An egg yolk only contains 50 mg of cholesterol. For example, the cholesterol content of the viscera in the stew (Beijing snacks) we eat is much higher than that in the egg yolk. Many people often don't eat the egg yolk, but eat the stew too much. Your cholesterol intake is easier to exceed.
