It is relatively cost-effective to change money in the city's banks. Some exchange offices also provide exchange receipts, and those that are not spent can be exchanged at the original exchange rate.

Southeast Asian countries

Currency: Thailand / Thai baht, Cambodia / Riel, Philippines / peso, Malaysia / ringgit. Suggestion: exchange RMB locally.

At present, RMB can be easily exchanged for local currency in Southeast Asian countries, and the exchange rate of RMB is rising. Therefore, in most Southeast Asian countries, it is more convenient and cost-effective to exchange RMB than US dollar. However, there are exceptions. For example, in Thailand, it is more cost-effective to exchange US dollars and Hong Kong dollars for Thai baht than to exchange RMB for Thai baht.

Japan

Currency: yen. Suggestion: exchange RMB in advance in China.

In Japan, exchange currency can only be exchanged in foreign currency exchange bank or other legal currency exchange places, and you must show your passport. Moreover, the Bank of Japan's exchange business is only carried out between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., and when it comes to Saturdays, Sundays and major holidays, the bank still takes a full day off, which is not very convenient. In Japan, it is the first choice to exchange US dollars for Japanese yen. The RMB cannot be exchanged in Japan.

Australia

Currency: Australian dollar. Suggestion: in Australia, the local settlement is only in Australian dollars, such as the local supermarket and so on. Generally, the settlement is only in Australian dollars, so it is necessary to first exchange a small amount of Australian dollars with RMB in China.

Tourists can also take us dollars with them to Australia. If they are in a DFS duty-free shop or other special shops, they will usually charge such currencies. The exchange price is subject to the official quotation every day. However, it should be noted that RMB is generally not converted into US dollars.

The Republic of Korea

Currency: Korean. Suggestion: it is convenient and cost-effective to exchange US dollars for Korean won in South Korea.

If there is no U.S. dollar, it is better to convert RMB into Korean dollar directly in domestic banks; because if it is to change Korean dollar after arriving, there may be a exchange place only in the airport or the landmark scenic spot, but the exchange rate is relatively low, so it is not very cost-effective to exchange RMB.

U.S.A

Currency: USD. Suggestion: exchange RMB for us dollars in advance in China.

If you go to the United States to exchange US dollars, you may encounter some restrictions. Although there are many banks in the United States, there are relatively limited banks with foreign currency exchange business. Tourists holding foreign currency usually exchange at the airport exchange, but like most other countries, the exchange rate is relatively low.

New Zealand

Currency: NZD. Suggestion: change RMB into US dollar or Australian dollar in China before departure.

New Zealand RMB is also not universal. It is generally converted into US dollars or Hong Kong dollars. However, in New Zealand, in addition to the use of New Zealand dollars, some shopping malls can also accept Australian dollars and US dollars for payment.

Tips: before returning to China, try to change the foreign currency coins into paper currency as much as possible, because at present, domestic banks do not exchange coins.
