Tunisian bomber killed and five security personnel injured

On March 6 local time, the Tunisian Ministry of the interior confirmed that a suicide bombing attack occurred in the neighborhood near the U.S. Embassy in Tunisia, killing the attackers and wounding five security personnel.

According to Al Jazeera, witnesses said that a man riding a motorcycle detonated himself near the U.S. Embassy, causing panic among pedestrians at the scene.

The U.S. Embassy in Tunisia issued an announcement through social networks, saying that rescue workers are currently rushing to the scene and reminding U.S. citizens to avoid passing through the area.

At present, no person or organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.

In the summer of 2019, Tunisia suffered a series of suicide bombings, causing more than 10 casualties. The extremist organization 'Islamic state' claimed to have launched these attacks.
