1、 Documents required for marriage registration

1, household register, ID card: registered residence booklet requires household registration dedicated seal, and ID card should be valid. If the identity card or household register is lost, the certificate should be reissued to the registered residence management department. The identity card should be identical with the name, date of birth and ID number on the household register. In case of inconsistency, it shall be corrected by the police station and sealed. In accordance with the provisions of military documents, active servicemen must hold military certificates and certificates of marital status issued by political departments at or above the regimental level.

2. Statement that both parties have no spouse and have no direct blood relatives or collateral blood relatives within three generations with the other party.

3. Photos: three recent two inch (5.1cm & times; 3.8cm) half length bareheaded group photos of both parties. (wedding photos and art photos are not allowed)

2、 Marriage registration process

1. Application. Both men and women applying for marriage shall jointly apply for marriage registration at the marriage registration authority in the place where one party's registered permanent residence is located with his / her household registration certificate, resident identity card, signed statement that he / she has no spouse and has no direct blood relationship with the other party and collateral blood relationship within three generations. Both men and women must be present when applying for registration. If it is divorced, it shall also hold a divorce certificate. Where premarital examination is carried out, the premarital examination certificate of the hospital should also be held.

2. Review. The registration authority will examine the marriage application of both parties, and when necessary, may require the parties to provide relevant supporting materials, conduct necessary investigation, or designate items for medical identification.

3. Registration. After examination, if the marriage registration authority considers that the marriage conditions are met, it shall approve the registration and issue a marriage certificate. If the marriage registration authority refuses to register, it shall issue a written explanation explaining the reasons for the refusal.
