Iran withdraws from the Iran nuclear agreement and no longer restricts uranium enrichment

At about 2:30 a.m. Beijing time on January 6, Iran's Supreme National Security Council issued a statement saying that Iran would completely lift "any restrictions" on uranium enrichment. This means that Iran will unilaterally and completely abandon any obligation to abide by the Iran nuclear agreement!

On July 14, 2015, after long negotiations, Iran and the six countries on the Iranian nuclear issue (the United States, China, Russia, Britain, Germany and France) reached an agreement on restricting Iran's development of nuclear weapons and lifting sanctions against Iran.

However, this historic agreement reached during Obama's tenure was criticized by trump as "a terrible one-sided agreement that should not have been signed".

On May 8, 2018, US President trump announced that the United States would withdraw from the Iran nuclear agreement and restart the sanctions against Iran exempted due to the Iran nuclear agreement.

On the same day a year later, Iranian President Hassan & middot; Rouhani announced that Iran has suspended the implementation of some provisions of the Iran nuclear agreement and will no longer sell heavy water and enriched uranium. However, Iran did not completely withdraw from the Iranian nuclear agreement at that time, and the Iranian nuclear agreement was not completely "broken" under the mediation of the EU, the United Nations and other parties.

However, the fragile balance maintained by various efforts was broken with the fatal raid launched by the United States on Iran's No. 2 Sulaimani.
