The taiji-1 in orbit test was successful, and the satellite will be transferred to the expansion exp

On the 25th, it was learned from the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that China's first experimental satellite for space gravitational wave detection technology, taiji-1, has successfully completed the in orbit test experiment, the results exceeded expectations, and the satellite will enter the expansion experiment stage.

On the same day, the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences organized a summary and review meeting on the on orbit test experiment of taiji-1 satellite in Beijing. The experts of the review group agreed that the functions and performance indexes of 'taiji-1' met the general requirements of development, the results exceeded expectations, and the on orbit test experiment was a complete success.

As the first satellite of the strategic leading science and technology project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (phase II), 'taiji-1' completed the first in orbit verification of the load required for China's space gravitational wave detection and the main key technologies of the satellite, including high-stability laser, ultra-high precision interferometer, high-sensitivity traction reference sensor, no drag control technology, micro cow micro propulsion technology, ultra-stable and hyperstatic spacecraft, etc.

According to the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, after the successful launch of taiji-1 at the end of August 2019, the scientific team and engineering team worked together. After four months of rigorous testing and experiments, the results showed that the satellite system had good in orbit performance and completed all the experimental contents specified in the general requirements for development.

On the basis of the first stage in orbit test, taiji-1 has completed all performance verification of RF ion and hall dual-mode electric micro push technology through systematic in orbit experiments, which is the first time in the world; After successfully realizing the acceleration mode non drag control experiment, the spacecraft in orbit non drag control in displacement mode was further completed, and the breakthrough of two non drag control technologies in China was first realized; The measured performance indexes of some core loads exceeded the design indexes by one order of magnitude, reaching the highest level in China, and verified the key technical route of space gravitational wave detection.

Industry experts said that the successful completion of the on orbit test experiment of "taiji-1" is an important breakthrough in the verification of China's space gravitational wave detection experimental technology, marking the successful realization of the first step of the "three steps" of the "Taiji plan".

It is understood that the Chinese Academy of Sciences has prospectively demonstrated the feasibility of China's space gravitational wave detection since 2008. After years of scientific frontier research, it has put forward the "Taiji plan" for China's space gravitational wave detection, and determined the "three-step" development strategy and roadmap of "single star, double star and three stars".
