How to care after delivery? Caesarean section and natural delivery should be treated differently

Women generally have two ways to give birth to babies: natural delivery and caesarean section. For postpartum mothers, postpartum care is very necessary, so how should women take care of postpartum? The nursing methods of caesarean section and spontaneous delivery are different.

Methods of postpartum recovery after natural delivery

Normal childbirth can begin to practice 24 hours after delivery.

Leg sliding exercise: lie on your back, put one leg flat on the bed, bend the other knee joint evenly and slowly while exhaling, and slide your foot close to the body. The distance and degree of sliding shall depend on the situation, and there shall be no pain and discomfort. Do the same with the other leg. Repeat 3-4 times as a group, and do 2-3 groups every day. Increase the action range and repetition times while gradually recovering the physical strength, and finally reach 12 times in each group. After 3 weeks, if physical strength permits, you can lift one leg instead.

Supine back up exercise: lie on your back, inhale first, and then tighten your back muscles while exhaling to lift your upper back slightly away from the bed. Pay attention to keep your waist from leaving the bed. Hold on for a few seconds, relax and repeat. At the beginning, 3-4 times per group, 2-3 groups per day, increase the number of repetitions while gradually recovering physical strength, and finally reach 12 times per group.

Tip: these two exercises can be carried out in supine position without getting up.

Methods of postpartum recovery after cesarean section

Within 6 hours postpartum: pregnant women who return to the ward after operation need to lean their head to one side and lie flat without pillow. At the same time, sandbags should be placed on the abdomen and fasting should be performed within 6 hours after operation.

The first day after delivery: after lying flat for 6 hours, the pregnant woman can pillow. At this time, it is best to use the side lying position. The quilt or blanket can be padded behind the back to form a 20-30 degree angle between the body and the bed; After the anesthetic strength has passed, most pregnant women will feel abdominal wound pain. At this time, let the doctor prescribe some prescription drugs or use an analgesic pump to relieve the pain. Six hours after cesarean section, you can drink some exhaust soup, such as radish soup, and move as soon as possible.

The first week after delivery: drink plenty of water and defecate in time. The diet can be changed from liquid to semi liquid. The food should be nutritious and easy to digest. You can choose egg soup, rotten porridge, noodles, etc., and then gradually return to normal diet according to the maternal constitution. Don't rush to drink some greasy milk soup at this stage, such as chicken soup, broth, etc.

Within two months after delivery: don't lift anything heavier than your baby. You can try to take the stairs. It's enough to go up and down the floor in a day.

Tip: don't drive by yourself in the first two or three weeks after delivery. You can do some exercise pelvic gymnastics.
