On December 5, Beijing time, Jiao Jian, a former player of Beijing Shougang, revealed on his microblog that Ji Zhe, a 33 year old former CBA champion of Beijing Shougang, had died of illness.

According to Jiao Jian, a famous Beijing basketball player and former Beijing Shougang men's basketball player, Ji Zhe, former Shougang men's basketball team captain, died of invalid treatment at the age of 33. Subsequently, Beijing Shougang men's basketball team issued an announcement, confirming the news.
Biography of Ji zhe:
Ji Zhe, born in Shenyang, Liaoning Province on October 14, 1986, is a professional power forward and plays for Beijing Shougang Basketball Club.
In 2005, Ji zhe led Northeastern University to win the second cubs league championship. In 2006, Ji zhe represented China at the Nike world basketball summit. In 2007, Ji zhe was loaned by Liaoning men's basketball team to Beijing Shougang team for CBA. In 2012, Ji zhe permanently transferred to Beijing.
In 2011-12 season, 2013-14 season and 2014-15 season, Ji zhe won the CBA league championship three times with Beijing Shougang team.
Ji zhe has played 434 games in his CBA career, averaging 23.9 minutes and getting 7.3 points and 4.7 rebounds.
