The leaves and branches wrapped in ice at each corner of the mountain top form rime in different forms, which dress the trees enchanting and swaying in the wind, like silver trees dazzling. Walking on the cliff plank road, the rime is like the top of a tree. The jade branches are crystal clear and beautiful. Rime, commonly known as tree hanging, is a milky white ice crystal deposit that the fog water directly freezes on the branches at low temperature. The altitude of Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie is 1518.6 meters, and the temperature at the top of the mountain is 6-8 ℃ lower than that in Zhangjiajie. It is the best time to watch rime in Tianmen Mountain from mid and late November to early March of the next year.
How is rime formed?
Cold weather in winter. Because rime is formed when water condenses with cold air, it is the most direct factor to form rime at low temperature. Generally speaking, rime is easy to form when the temperature reaches below minus 26 ℃.
There is plenty of water vapor in the air. Generally speaking, if a place is foggy, snowy, with high air humidity and sufficient water vapor, it is easy to form rime. In the high humidity environment, with the cold air, rime is formed.
Low wind speed. White clouds on sunny days are also one of the conditions for the formation of rime. When there are no clouds at night, the surface temperature is relatively low, and the temperature drop is obvious, which is conducive to the formation of rime.
Radiation cooling is strong. Generally speaking, the radiation cooling in winter is relatively strong, so it will cause obvious temperature difference between day and night. White angels can accept solar radiation on the earth's surface, raising the temperature; At night, due to the effect of radiation, the earth's surface can not absorb sunlight, but also radiate heat. These will accelerate the formation of rime.
