The whereabouts of tourists falling from the cliff in Bali are still unknown
A tourist from Belarus accidentally fell off a cliff after taking a selfie on the edge of a cliff in Bali on the 27th. At present, the police are still looking for the whereabouts of the tourist.
According to Indonesian media Indonesia expat reported on the 30th, the missing 34 year old tourist is Sergei & sdot; Balbusine, from Belarus. At about 7:30 p.m. on October 27, balbuxin fell off the danrong meibulu cliff in nankuta District, Balong county.
The local police chief confirmed that the tourist accidentally fell down after taking a selfie on the edge of the cliff.
Reported that after receiving the missing report, the local search and Rescue Bureau launched a search and rescue work. On October 30, the search and rescue work entered its third day, but no substantive progress has been made.
It is reported that the man came to the cliff without a companion. The police also found a rented white car near the scene.
According to CCTV news earlier reported that in 2016, a 57 year old Chinese female tourist fell from a 15 meter cliff at the temple in the sea temple resort area of Bali and died of head injury. Witnesses said she and her husband took selfie there. Her husband also fell into the sea and was rescued and sent to the hospital for treatment. In 2015, a 21-year-old Singaporean man fell into the sea from a steep rock and died while taking a selfie with his mobile phone on the edge of a cliff in Bali.
A study in the Indian Journal of family medicine and primary health care in 2018 found that at least 259 people died from selfie in the world from October 2011 to November 2017.
