Why is the logistics cost so high in our country?
Just think about it, we have spent trillions of money to build the railway, but the railway transportation capacity (cargo transportation capacity) accounts for only 5% - 6% of all freight transportation in China; We have also spent trillions of dollars to build expressways, and the transportation capacity of cars through expressways accounts for 86% of China's cargo transportation; Other modes of transportation, such as water and air, account for a little more than 10%.
After reading this structure, you will understand why the logistics cost is high. Because the railway transportation mode with low transportation cost has a low proportion in the whole freight transportation.
If you look carefully, there is no railway connection in the "seven connections and one leveling" of all development zones (seven connections: water supply, drainage, electricity, communication, access, gas and heat; one leveling: land leveling). All large factories and industrial factories with an output value of 50 billion and 100 billion do not build railways. There are no railways in all the new areas. Our railways are not seamlessly connected to these capacities.
The railway was built in the United States 100 years ago. In the decades after World War II, although they have built so many highways and the traffic volume of aircraft is also very large, 20% of the total transportation capacity of the United States still depends on railways.
If the transport capacity proportion of our national railway can rise to 15% and 20%, I believe our logistics cost may fall from 15% to 10% of GDP.
