The official microblog of NBA Brooklyn basketball nets announced on September 19 that Cai Chongxin, executive vice chairman of Alibaba group, officially completed the wholly-owned acquisition of Brooklyn basketball net and Barclays center. Cai Chongxin became the owner of Brooklyn basketball net and its affiliated teams and the chairman of Barclays center.

Cai Chongxin said: "we will continue to work hard to bring the best game between the basketball nets and Barclays center to Brooklyn and all the fans."

The New York Post reported on August 15 local time that Alibaba co-founder Cai Chongxin would buy Barclays Center Stadium, the home of the nets, for $700 million. The deal will be announced within a week.

Earlier, the New York Post reported on August 13 local time that Cai Chongxin was about to buy the remaining 51% shares of the nets from prokolov, the current major shareholder of the nets and a Russian tycoon, at a price of $1.35 billion. Last April, Cai Chongxin bought 49% of the shares of the basketball nets from prokolov at a price of $1 billion. In other words, Cai Chongxin completely acquired the basketball net at a total price of $2.35 billion.
