Why should the Chinese New Year's blessing be pasted upside down? What's the point of sticking Fu ch

Every Spring Festival, every family should paste the words of blessing on the door, on the wall and on the lintel. It is a long-standing folk custom to paste the word "Fu" in the Spring Festival. But a lot of people paste the word Fu upside down. Do you know why?

The origin of the word Fu

It's said that when King Wu conquered the Zhou Dynasty and later Jiang Taigong became the God of poverty, he named his wife Ye Shi as the God of poverty, and told her: 'you can't go to a blessed place. 'from then on, my family pasted the word "Fu" on the new year's day to tell the poor God that I am a blessed place and you must not come in. The word "Fu" is a symbol of getting rid of poverty and pursuing happiness Of course, it's just a legend, but it reflects the people's desire for good luck

Fuzi is one of the oldest characters in China. It has appeared in oracle bone inscriptions. It is the shape of wine utensils in front of God, because the ancients used wine to symbolize wealth in life. The present Fu characters are composed of Shi, Yi, Kou and Tian. Shi refers to God arrived; Tian refers to cultivated land and hunting; one word, according to Shuowen, explains: "one, only at the beginning of Taishi, Tao stands in one, creating heaven and earth, and transforming everything"; Kou, Shuowen, says: "mouth, so people speak and eat. 'in this word of blessing, the common people's desire for land to meet their needs for food and clothing is entrusted.

The first case of Fu character pasting backwards:

The first case of the flip-flop is the water tank / garbage bin / and the cabinet at home.

Paste Fu characters on the water tank and garbage can;

Because the contents of the water tank and the garbage can need to be poured out.

In order to avoid the family's blessing, they paste the word "blessing". In this way, the homonym "to" of the word "inverted" is cleverly used; the "blessing to" is used to offset the "blessing to" to express the yearning for a better life.

2. The second case of Fu character pasting backwards:

It's on the cupboard in the house. A cabinet is a place for storing things.

Paste the word "Fu" upside down to indicate luck (also wealth). It's going to be at home / in the house and in the cupboard.

3. The third situation of Fu character pasting backwards

Special reminder to friends. In addition, the following models need to be pasted upside down:

If someone in the family dies / or other disasters occur during the year. Such as: Fire / car accident, etc. Hope that the friends in transit can paste the blessing words backwards;

In the old society, in order to flatter people, the characters of happiness were pasted upside down.

The specific situation is as follows:

Children who have the ability to know the characters at home. The family deliberately pasted the blessing words upside down; called the children to ask: is our family's blessing words posted right? The children said: 'the blessing has fallen (arrived)'. You can get a candy, as the child said unfortunately: Adults take out the prepared straw paper. Wipe the baby's mouth. Moral: that sentence just now is not spoken by mouth. No! And I'll return the word "Fu" immediately afterwards.

4. The word "Fu" on the gate must be pasted

Not all blessing words should be pasted backwards. Especially on the gate. Blessing on the gate. It must always be a positive post. Reminder: the word "blessing" on the gate means "welcome blessing" and "take blessing".

And the gate is the entrance to the family. A solemn and respectful place; pasted with the word blessing. Must be serious / dignified and generous / it should be pasted. Feng Jicai, a famous writer, said: like now. Turn over the blessing on the gate. The head is heavy and the feet are light. Disrespectful and unfair. It is against the spirit of Chinese "door culture" and "year culture". If it's fun to post back at will. Is it not too rash and rough to treat their own folk culture?

5. Textual research on the reverse paste of "Fu"

The custom of "Fu" is from Gongqin palace in Qing Dynasty.

It is said that:

The housekeeper is to please the master and his son. I wrote many "Fu" words. Let people paste it on the storehouse and the gate of the palace. There was a family member who was illiterate. The word "Fu" on the gate was pasted upside down by mistake. The housekeeper knelt on the ground and said, "Prince Gong is blessed with longevity and great fortune.". Now the great blessing is really here. It's a sign of good luck. Hearing this, Fu Jin thought to himself: no wonder that all the people said that the Prince Gong's mansion was blessed. The auspicious language says a thousand times / the gold and silver increase a thousand times; when he is happy, he rewards the housekeeper and the family who pasted down the blessing. After the event, the custom of sticking the word "Fu" was introduced into the people's families by the Da government, and all the passers-by or urchins were willing to say a few words: Fu arrived / Fu arrived!

There is also a legend about the word "Fu" posted on the back of the people:

Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor of Ming Dynasty, used the word "Fu" as a secret record to prepare to kill people. The good empress Ma tried to eliminate the disaster. So that every family in the city must put a blessing on their own door. No one dares to disobey empress Ma's will. So the word "Fu" was pasted on every door. Some of them are illiterate. I actually pasted the word "Fu" upside down. The next day the emperor sent people to the streets to check: they found that every family had pasted the word "Fu". Only one family pasted the word "Fu" upside down. The emperor was furious at the report. Immediately order the royal forest army to cut off the whole family. Empress Ma said to Zhu Yuanzhang: the family knows you are visiting. Deliberately pasted the word Fu upside down. Isn't that the meaning of "blessed"? The emperor has a point. He ordered the release. A major disaster was finally eliminated. Since then, people have pasted the word "Fu" upside down: one for luck / two for the memory of empress ma.

[warm tips]

Friends must remember:

The gate is the place to welcome fortune. The word "Fu" should be pasted.

The word "Fu" pasted on the door must be pasted on the front.

Moral: the auspicious reputation of opening the door to welcome the blessing. If the word "blessing" of the door is pasted upside down, the blessing will fall out of the door and run to someone else's house. The word "big" must also be pasted along to get to the right blessing. Otherwise, the word "blessing" will be knocked down and the blessing will slip away.

However, the word "Fu" posted in the room is suitable for pasting backwards. At home, even if the "Fu" is knocked down, it is also in my own home, and the blessing is also locked in my own house. The house is full of blessings! And the word "Fu" posted on the toilet / dustbin / wardrobe & hellip; & hellip; must also be pasted upside down; there is a meaning that "Fu" is less than "Fu"!

Don't post it wrong again!
