the Brooklyn nets, who reached the first round of the NBA playoffs last season, confirmed on the 16th that its Russian boss Prokhorov had reached an agreement with CAI Chongxin, co-founder of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba group, to transfer 51% of the equity of the nets controlled by Prokhorov and the full ownership of the team's home Barclays center in New York. The whole transaction will be completed by the end of September this year.

Cai Chongxin invested $1 billion last year to acquire 49% of the equity of the basketball nets. After the transaction is approved and completed by the USL, Cai Chongxin will become the only investor of the team and the stadium to achieve full control. Although the statement did not disclose the specific amount of the transaction, many American media reported that the value of 51% equity was about US $1.35 billion, and the total ownership of Barclays center was about US $1 billion.

In his statement, Cai Chongxin expressed appreciation and gratitude for Prokhorov's efforts in team construction and said that he would make every effort to make the team to a higher level. He also said: "we will spare no effort to maintain the sacred status of Barclays center in the hearts of fans and New York citizens, and further develop the functions of the stadium in culture, community and entertainment."

Russian billionaire Prokhorov bought the basketball nets in 2010 and then moved the team's home from New Jersey to Brooklyn, but the team's record has been poor, even setting the worst record of only 20 wins in the regular season in a single season. The basketball nets rebounded strongly last season and broke into the first round of the playoffs with 42 wins and 40 losses in the regular season. This summer, they dug up super scorer Kevin & middot from the warriors; Durant introduced guard Carey & middot, who averaged 23 points from the Celtics; Owen, paper power has increased greatly. But Durant tore his Achilles tendon at the end of last season, and it is doubtful whether he can play in the first half of next season. According to the statistics of the American professional basketball team, the fastest record for players with Achilles tendon tears to return to the game in the past is 7.5 months.
