The fire occurred around 5 a.m. that day. Due to the rapid spread of the fire, the local fire department had to ask for the support of other fire departments around. According to the fire department personnel, after they arrived, three cowsheds had started a fire, and the fire soon spread to the fourth cowshed. There were 1000 cows in the four sheds, and only about 200 were rescued.
At more than 10 a.m. that day, investigators arrived at the dairy farm called pennwood dairy. Preliminary investigation showed that the fire started from the inside of the cowshed.
