Can Hong Kong permanent residents go to Taiwan with their passports? Specific handling process

With the continuous progress of our life, traveling has become a normal life. Can Hong Kong permanent residents go to Taiwan with Hong Kong passports? Or should I apply for a Taiwan entry permit in advance? Let's have a look

① If you hold a HKSAR passport and indicate that you are a permanent resident born in Hong Kong, your passport is valid for more than six months, and you have a return ticket within 14 days, you can apply for a landing visa "temporary entry and stay notice" after you arrive in Taiwan.

② If a permanent resident who holds a HKSAR passport but is not born in Hong Kong, as long as he has been to Taiwan after 1983, he can also apply for a landing visa in Taiwan.

③ Permanent residents who are not Hong Kong born should apply for a Taiwan entry permit at the Taipei Economic and cultural office on the fourth floor of the Lippo building, Kim Jong Il Lippo center, if they go to Taiwan for the first time or if they have applied but have not gone.

Those who apply for a traditional Taiwan entry permit shall apply for a Taiwan entry permit in the following ways:

1. Fill in a Taiwan entry and exit application form: the application form must be filled in detail in blue or black ballpoint pen and signed in Chinese block letters.

2. One copy of ID card on the front and back, and the photos on the copy must be clear without any words or patterns.

3. In the last six months, one 2-inch front half body hat off, color photo on white background, with name and date of birth written on the back.

4. An airmail envelope (a return envelope with the correct Chinese address and name of the applicant written on it. There is no need to affix a stamp, and the postage will be charged separately. The domestic stamp mailing certificate will be purchased on behalf of the applicant. The approved entry-exit Certificate (Taiwan entry-exit certificate) will be directly registered mailed to the applicant by Taipei. If the address is wrong or no one receives the letter, the responsibility shall be borne by the applicant.

6. Re application: (the working time is about 1 week, excluding Saturday, Sunday, public holidays, document delivery process, mail delay and parts time)

6.1 the original of the previous entry card (issued after 1983) shall be returned. If the original of the used entry card is not attached, the original of the ID card shall also be submitted for inspection (the same as the initial application document).

6.2 for those who have not applied to Taiwan after 1983, or have not applied in writing (Internet visa and landing visa are not written applications), they shall be handled as initial applications.
