Recently, the Shenzhen Municipal People's Procuratorate prosecuted Xie on suspicion of intentional homicide and maltreatment and Zhu on suspicion of maltreatment.
Event review: on the evening of September 17, 2018, Mengmeng, who was seriously injured, was sent to a Guangming hospital for first aid. At that time, the accompanying adults claimed that the girl fell out of bed and was injured.
The doctor in the intensive care unit found that this was not the case. The girl had multiple scars and obvious signs of scalding. The medical staff immediately called the police.
Subsequently, the boyfriend of the girl's mother was taken away by Guangming police for investigation. Unfortunately, the child's condition has not improved. According to Mr. Zhu, Mengmeng's father, after his divorce from his mother, Ms. Zhu, in March 2018, Ms. Zhu would not let him see Mengmeng again or disclose the news of his daughter. Until Mengmeng was admitted to the hospital, Mr. Zhu didn't know that Ms. Zhu lived with her hometown Xie.
After examination by the procuratorial organ, Xie often beat the girl with a clothes hanger, even poked her chest with an iron pipe, scalded her fingers with a cigarette end, resulting in multiple bruises, abrasions, finger skin defects, etc.
On the night of September 17, 2018, Xie pushed Mengmeng to the ground, then twice lifted Mengmeng high and fell heavily to the ground, resulting in coma and death due to severe brain injury. For this reason, the procuratorial organ is responsible for the criminal responsibility of the suspect, Xie Mang, for intentional homicide and ill treatment.
As the first guardian, Meng Meng's mother Zhu failed to fulfill her guardianship obligations and had many beatings. She not only failed to stop her boyfriend's long-term abuse and beating of her daughter, but also hid in the room on the night of the crime, which eventually led to the tragedy of her daughter's being abused to death. Therefore, the procuratorial organ prosecuted her for suspected abuse.
