Can I smoke on the plane? What items can't be taken on the plane

For old smokers who often smoke, cigarettes are a part of them. They have to carry them wherever they go, but it is inevitable to take transportation when they go out. As we all know, smoking is prohibited in many public places. If they take a plane, will they be able to smoke? What items can't be taken on the plane?

1、 Smoking is not allowed on the plane.

Smoking was once allowed on aircraft, but because smoking caused tragic aircraft accidents, representatives of 153 member states of ICAO met in 1992 and decided that airlines of all countries must prohibit passengers from smoking on international flights before July 1, 1996. China also began to ban smoking on international flights on July 1, 1993, which was the first to implement the ban on smoking on aircraft.

2、 Ashtrays on airplanes

It belongs to a preventive device. There are clear regulations in civil aviation regulations at home and abroad: whether smoking is allowed in any area of the aircraft or not, the entrance of each toilet must be equipped with an ashtray. And there must be 'no smoking' or 'no smoking in the toilet' and other prominent slogans in the toilet.

The ashtray on the plane is to prevent some stubborn smokers from hiding, secretly smoking and littering cigarette butts. In this way, passengers can use ashtrays to extinguish and store cigarette butts to avoid potential fire hazards.

Prohibited items for domestic flights are as follows:

1、 Guns, military or police equipment (including main parts), including military guns, official guns, civil guns, other guns, ordnance, police weapons, guns and equipment prohibited by the state, and imitations of the above articles.

2、 Explosives: including ammunition, blasting equipment, pyrotechnic products and imitations of the above items.

3、 Controlled knives: Tibetan knives, waist knives and boot knives that ethnic minorities need to wear and use due to their living habits belong to controlled knives and are only allowed to be sold and used in ethnic autonomous areas.

4、 Inflammables and explosives, including hydrogen, oxygen, butane and other bottled compressed gas and liquefied gas; Spontaneous combustion articles such as yellow phosphorus, white phosphorus, nitrocellulose (including film), oil paper and its products; Metal potassium, sodium, lithium, calcium carbide (calcium carbide), magnesium aluminum powder and other water burning articles; Gasoline, kerosene, diesel, benzene, ethanol (alcohol), paint, thinner, rosin oil and other flammable liquids; Flash powder, solid alcohol, celluloid and other flammable solids; Sodium peroxide, potassium peroxide, lead peroxide, peracetic acid and other inorganic and organic oxides.

5、 Toxic substances: including cyanide, highly toxic pesticides and other highly toxic substances.

6、 Corrosive articles: including sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, liquid storage battery, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, etc.

7、 Radioactive materials: radioactive materials such as radioisotopes.

8、 Other articles endangering flight safety, such as strongly magnetized objects that may interfere with the normal operation of various instruments on the aircraft, articles with strong pungent smell, etc.

9、 Other articles prohibited from carrying and transporting as stipulated by national laws and regulations.

10、 China lifted the restrictions on ordinary lighters carried by passengers flying to the United States, but the 'torch lighter' is not within the scope of lifting the restrictions. As the flame burning state of such lighters is very strong, and the temperature can reach 2500 degrees in a short time, which poses a great threat to flight safety, passengers carrying such lighters on board will still not be allowed.
