The latest monitoring weekly report released by the National Influenza Center on January 4, 2019 shows that in the 52nd week of 2018 (as of December 30, 2018), most provinces in mainland China have entered the influenza epidemic season in winter and spring 2018-2019, and the activity level continues to rise.
The main subtype of influenza virus detected is a H1N1, followed by a (H3N2) subtype, but a very small number of B (Victoria) and B (Yamagata) strains can also be detected.
