Many people tend to be shy when communicating with others, especially between the opposite sex. They all say that such people are more reliable. Are they true or false? Let's have a look~

People who are prone to shyness are more reliable, generous and loyal to their spouses and friends, according to a new study published in the Journal of personality and social psychology.

The new study was carried out by Matthew Feinberg, Ph.D. in psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, and colleagues. Researchers graded the shyness of several college students who told stories that made them shy and embarrassed. Then they play a game in economic research to measure their loyalty and generosity. The results showed that shy participants were the most generous and reliable. In another study, the researchers studied the embarrassment, cooperation and generosity of another 38 participants who completed the same game. According to Dr. rob weller, a social psychologist at the University of California, Berkeley, shyness can be used as an individual's' emotional signature 'to judge whether they are trustworthy or not, which helps to promote social interaction and build mutual trust and cooperation among people.
