Why do old people smell? How to eliminate it?

Many old people realize that as they get older, the smell gets heavier. This kind of special smell is often called 'old people's smell'.

According to the latest report in the United States, a study conducted by Japanese scholars shows that there is a substance called 2-nonenal in human body odor, and its secretion will increase with aging. The researchers analyzed people who were between 26 and 75 years old with body odor and found that 2-nonenal was only found in people over 40 years old.

What is the cause of body odor? Usually, sweat is decomposed by bacteria to produce this odor. However, due to the slow metabolism of the elderly, the skin surface is easy to produce dead skin. If not cleaned in time, it will produce odor. Therefore, the elderly can reduce body odor by:

1. Take a shower and bath every day to reduce bacteria on your skin.

2. Dry your feet thoroughly after bathing, because microbes love the moist environment between your toes.

3. Barefoot when you can, or occasionally take off your shoes.

4. Change your eating habits. Some spicy foods will make your sweat taste worse.

5. Wear clothes, especially socks, try to choose cotton and wool materials, avoid using synthetic fibers. Choose moistureproof and easy to dry sportswear when exercising and sweating a lot. Change your socks at least once a day.

6. Wear breathable shoes. Natural materials keep feet ventilated and dry. At the same time, remember to rotate a few pairs of shoes so that they have enough time to air dry.

7. Consider relaxation techniques such as yoga, meditation, and biofeedback. These techniques can help you control stress without sweating a lot.
