Why can't the egg be crushed

When the egg is evenly stressed, it can bear a force of 34.1 kg. Bird eggs have such a large bearing capacity, which is inseparable from its unique egg shape curve and scientific structure. The egg structure has three layers, the outer layer is the epidermis, also known as the flash layer; the middle layer is the sponge layer; the inner layer is the papillary layer. Different birds have different three-layer microstructure. The reason why the thin eggshell can bear such a large pressure is that it can evenly distribute the pressure to all parts of the eggshell.

The structure with curvilinear shape, thin thickness and main pressure bearing structure is called thin shell structure in architecture, and egg is a typical thin shell structure.

However, if you pinch the two sides of an egg, you can easily crush it.
