How to keep you away from carbon monoxide

Many business friends spend most of their time on the road. Sleeping in the car is naturally a regular thing. But I don't know that if you don't operate properly, it may kill you every minute. Such a tragedy happened in Shanghai in the early years. Five people died in the car sleeping at the same time. So today we are going to teach you how to sleep properly in the car.

Three members of the owner's family and two apprentices of a car repair shop on Huicheng road in Pudong New Area were found dead in the shop, the morning news reported. Police initially found that they were poisoned by carbon monoxide. According to the scene investigation, there was a car in the closed shop, the key of the car was turned on, and the power of the battery was exhausted. Therefore, it was speculated that the accident was related to starting the car engine and turning on the air conditioner in the car for heating.

Doctors said that in winter, starting a car in a confined space or driving an air conditioner in a motor car to fall asleep, eventually leading to carbon monoxide poisoning from time to time. Because after the incomplete combustion of automobile fuel, the exhaust gas will contain carbon monoxide, the longer the time, the higher the concentration, and the oxygen in the vehicle and indoor will be gradually consumed. The police reminded the general public that in cold winter, it is necessary to use gas, gas and electrical appliances safely, and do not start the car engine in an enclosed space for a long time, so as to avoid fire and poisoning.

The normal way to sleep in the car

1. Window ventilation

If you want to keep the air in circulation, it's natural to open the windows for ventilation. However, many car owners will take safety into consideration when they rest in the car. If there is a gap in the window, some lawbreakers may stare at it. Just like the above picture, a small gap can also play the role of air flow. Whether it's hot summer or cold winter, this gap may be your life preserver.

2. Turn on the inside and outside circulation mode

Many car owners have a habit that they like to turn on the internal circulation in order to maintain the temperature and air quality in the car. This is not wrong, but during the rest, they also want to keep the air circulation in the car smooth. It is suggested that car owners change the circulation mode to the external circulation mode.

3. Air conditioning and heating are not air purifiers

Now there are some vehicles equipped with air purification function, but they are very few vehicles after all. The air conditioner and warm air on the vehicle are not air purifiers, so remember that if I turn on the air conditioner or warm air when I sleep, I won't be poisoned. Even if you have installed an air purifier, you are advised to take ventilation measures.

4. Regularly check the exhaust pipe for air leakage and the windows for tightness

When it comes to this, some car owners are going to question. Just now they said that ventilation is necessary, so why do we have to check whether it is airtight? First of all, let's talk about exhaust, because if carbon monoxide from vehicle exhaust leaks into the car, it will gradually accumulate and make its concentration rise, thus causing poisoning. If the exhaust pipe is damaged, it is easier for the exhaust to enter the car, leading to the increase of hidden dangers. Windows are closed for the same reason.

5. Try to park the vehicle in the open space

Many professional drivers also have the habit of resting in the car, and the venue is very unstable, especially in some smaller garages. The narrow environment is more likely to cause the accumulation of carbon monoxide. Some underground garages have poor air circulation, so they are also places with thin air. So in the rest, the vehicle should be parked in an open place outside to ensure the circulation of fresh air.
