The world's largest solar power station is about to break the record

Earlier, we knew that the Mojave desert at the junction of California and Nevada is located in the world's largest solar power station, with 14.2 square kilometers, 173000 solar panels, and can generate 392mw of electricity. Now this record may be set in 2015.

The solar power plant will be built in the 9.5 square mile California Carrizo plain, which is definitely another new feat. It will generate 550 megawatts of electricity and provide solar power for 160000 homes. The project is expected to go online in 2015.
