The brilliant flame Dragon Boat flower is a natural color box in the courtyard

Dragon Boat flower is a very amazing flower, very suitable for layout in the corridor, just like the natural red carpet, many people like it because its flowering period is really long, of course, it is also a very good garden potted plant.

1、 Introduction to Dragon Boat flower

Dragon Boat flower is also called Yingdan, Xiandan, bairihong, Shandan, Yingdan, hydrangea, bairihong. It has beautiful plant shape, dense flowers, rich colors and flowers all year round. It is an important potted woody flower and the national flower of Myanmar.

Its plant is low, the flower leaf is beautiful, the flower color is rich, has red, orange, yellow, white, double color and so on. Longchuanhua has a long flowering period and can blossom from March to December every year.

2、 Daily maintenance

1. Suitable temperature

Longchuanhua likes warm, humid and sunny environment. Not resistant to cold, half shade, water humidity and strong light. The suitable temperature for the growth of dragon boat flower is 15-25 ℃, 24-30 ℃ from March to September, and 13-18 ℃ from September to next March.

In winter, the temperature is not lower than 0 ℃. If it is too low, it is easy to suffer freezing injury. On the contrary, longchuanhua was resistant to high temperature and grew normally above 32 ℃.

2. Moisture content

In general, the adaptability of dragon boat flower to temperature is relatively strong. Dragon Boat flower likes wet, afraid of dry. Sufficient water should be needed during the growth period of stem and leaf to keep the basin soil moist, which is conducive to shoot germination and leaf growth.

However, if it is too wet for a long time, it is easy to cause partial root rot and affect growth and flowering. If the soil is too dry or wet when it is dry, and the water supply is not timely, the phenomenon of falling leaves will occur.

3. Illumination

Longchuanhua needs sufficient sunlight, especially in the growth period of stem and leaf. Under sufficient sunlight, the leaves are green and shiny, which is conducive to the formation of inflorescence, and the flowers are neat and bright.

It can also grow in semi shade environment, but the leaves are light green, lack of luster, few flowers and light color. However, proper shading under strong light in summer can prolong the flowering period.

4. Basin soil

The best soil for cultivation of longchuanhua is acid sandy loam which is fertile, loose and well drained. The pH value of the mixed soil of culture soil, peat soil and coarse sand is 5-5.5.

3、 Introduction to reproduction

Longchuanhua can be propagated by sowing, layering and cutting, mainly by cutting, and rooting by branch cutting, bud cutting and root cutting.

The best cutting time is in spring and autumn. The softwood cutting can also be selected in June. Pay attention to shading and moisturizing. The temperature is 20-25 ℃, and the rooting time is about 20 days.

1. Sowing and propagation

Sowing and propagation should be carried out in spring. The temperature is 24 ℃ and the seeds can germinate in about 10 days, but the seeds are not easy to take and should be artificially pollinated.

The seeds were collected in winter and sown in spring next year. The suitable temperature for germination was 22-24 ℃. The seeds were sown in indoor seedling tray and germinated in about 20-25 days.

When 3-4 pairs of true leaves grow, the seedlings can be transplanted into 8 cm pots. The seedlings should be put on the basin with the acidic humus soil in time, and the drainage hole at the bottom of the basin should be enlarged, and the drainage layer should be made.

During the rainy season, we should pay attention to the drainage of the basin. We should not be too wet during the cultivation period. Excessive humidity is not good for flowering, even leaves and rotten roots.

At the early stage of growth, it can be pinched to make the plant shape round, with more branches and flowers. It can also be used to bind rackets and various scaffolds for branches and vines to climb. In order to ensure a higher air humidity, the leaves can be sprayed regularly, and the air in the cultivation environment should be fresh.

2. Cutting propagation

Cutting propagation can be carried out from March to October every year. One year old strong branches (too tender, not easy to survive, black skin and spots, too old branches are not easy to root), cut into 10-15 cm section, remove the base leaves, and cut in sand bed.

After planting, water to keep the soil moist, about 50 days to root, about 10 days after root can transplant or pot, put half shade place maintenance, after rooting survival, move to sunny place maintenance.

Using 0.5% IBA solution to soak the base of cuttings for 3-5 seconds before cutting can shorten the rooting period, and the root system is especially developed.

3. Layering propagation

In the early spring, in the case of many and dense branches, 20 cm away from the top, ring peeling, bound with peat and film, about 2 months to heal and take root.

For the newly propagated seedlings, they should be maintained in the shade after they are put into the basin. After the survival and sprouting of new shoots, thin fertilizer should be applied every 10-15 days. When the weather is dry, attention should be paid to watering. When the seedlings grow to about 15 cm, they should be pinched to promote lateral branches and make the plant plump.

4、 Maintenance precautions

During the cultivation period of dragon boat flower, the soil was changed once a year, the basal fertilizer was applied, the liquid fertilizer was applied 2-3 times during the growth period, and the same amount of three element fertilizer was applied during the flowering period with the concentration of 0.2% once a week.

When it is cool in autumn, it should be maintained in a high-temperature greenhouse to get more sunlight, control watering and stop fertilizing. When it is above 8 ℃, it can be dormant and overwinter safely. When it is turned over in spring, the upper branches should be cut short to promote the germination of new branches. When it is out of the room, it should be put in a shady place. When the light is insufficient, it will cause tendril growth and do not bloom.
