Hydrangea rugosa

Europeans discovered Hydrangea in China, and after it was introduced back to China, they developed their own strains with Japan.

The biggest difference between the two species is the leaf shape. The leaves of Qionghua and Hydrangea are oval with small serrations. The leaves are palmately three lobed with irregular coarse teeth.

Fentuan (fentuanjiao) and butterfly xizhuhua are two other pairs of sterile flowers. The name of butterfly xizhuhua is very vivid. Its sterile flower is not centrosymmetric, but axisymmetric. It looks like a fertile flower surrounded by a white butterfly.
