How to prevent mumps infection?

Mumps, also known as mumps, is also common in children. Now let's talk about how mumps should prevent infection.

[prevention] isolate the patient as soon as possible until the parotid gland swelling completely subsides. Contacts are not necessarily quarantined, but they should be kept for 3 weeks in collective children's institutions (including hospitals, schools) and troops, and suspicious patients should be temporarily isolated immediately.

Live attenuated mumps vaccine: live attenuated chicken embryo cell culture vaccine has been widely used in foreign countries since 1966. Its effect on preventing infection can reach 97% in children and 93% in adults. Live mumps vaccine is used in combination with measles and rubella vaccine at the same time, and the results are satisfactory. After immunization, the neutralizing antibody of mumps virus can be maintained for at least 9.5 years.

Besides intradermal injection and subcutaneous injection, mumps live vaccine can also be injected by nasal spray or aerosol inhalation (carried out in the aerosol room) with good effect.

Our materials showed that incidence rate of children immunization (7.4%) was significantly lower than that of corresponding control group (78.5%) after half a year of immunization (nasal spray and aerosol inhalation), and the incidence rate of adult immunization group (0.33%) was lower than that of corresponding control group (4.6%), and there was no adverse reaction. In view of the high incidence rate and serious illness of this disease, we should plan to arrange the use of mumps vaccine (including adults). Especially for the new class of kindergarten, universal immunization can significantly reduce the incidence. At present, the application of the vaccine has been gradually promoted in China.

Live mumps vaccine should not be used in pregnant women (to prevent the adverse consequences of virus trans placental infection of the fetus), people with congenital or acquired hypoimmunity and people allergic to egg protein (because live vaccine is obtained from chicken embryo).

General immunoglobulin, adult blood or placental globulin did not prevent the disease. The blood and immunoglobulin or specific high valent immunoglobulin of convalescent patients may be useful, but the source is difficult, it is not easy to obtain, and the protection time after use is short, only 2-3 weeks, so it is not used much, and its effect needs further study.
