What is the postoperative care of cataract

Cataract is needed to do surgery, patients should pay attention to do a good job of nursing after surgery. Otherwise, we will get twice the result with half the effort. What is the postoperative care of cataract?

On the day after cataract surgery, close your eyes and rest as much as possible to reduce eyeball rotation. Except for eating and going to the toilet, you should generally stay in bed. Special attention should be paid not to collide with the operative eye, so as to avoid complications such as incision rupture, anterior chamber hemorrhage, intraocular pressure rise and intraocular lens displacement.

On the second day after cataract surgery, we can take care of ourselves, but we should still rest in bed. Some patients feel slight pain and tears in the eyes, which is a normal phenomenon. Avoid rubbing and overusing eyes. Antibiotic eye drops should be given 3 to 4 times a day after cataract surgery. If the incision is sutured with suture during the operation, the suture is usually removed 5 days after the operation. After the suture is removed, erythromycin or aureomycin eye ointment can be applied locally before sleeping to prevent infection. The eyes should not be watered in one week to avoid infection.

The elderly gastrointestinal peristalsis slows down, easy to constipate, so we need to pay attention to eating easily digestible food, fresh vegetables and fruits after cataract surgery. Patients with constipation can use laxative or Kaiselu before and after operation to prevent excessive force during defecation, which may lead to local bleeding and wound cracking.
