Can cataract be infected?

Can cataract be infected? Generally speaking, cataract is divided into several types: senile, concurrent, congenital, traumatic, metabolic, drug and toxic, late-onset and so on. Neither type is caused by infection. So far, no infectious case of cataract has been found.

Because cataract can only be treated by surgery in the later stage, it is very important to prevent cataract.

1. Prevent cataract from taking enough vitamin C. vitamin C can also reduce the damage of light and oxygen to the lens and prevent the formation of senile cataract. Take enough vitamin C. The content of vitamin C in human eyes is about 30 times higher than that in blood. With the increase of age, the nutritional absorption function and metabolic function gradually decline, lens malnutrition, vitamin C content decreased significantly, and over time, lens degeneration and cataract occurred.

2. After the elderly have cataract, they should pay attention to controlling their emotions. Early cataract has little effect on vision. As long as it is maintained carefully and treated correctly, it should not be too nervous. For the prevention of cataract in the elderly, experts recommend pupil dilation every two years. Diabetic patients should have a pupil examination once a year. Pupil dilation can detect abnormalities and lesions of the eye, such as glaucoma, diabetes caused eye diseases, cataracts, eye cancer and spotted degeneration.

3. Usually do not smoke, drink less, do not eat candy and sweets, and eat less food with high cholesterol. Eat more nutritious and digestible food.

4. Often participate in outdoor activities, such as walking and jogging, so as to exercise, enhance physique and delay aging.

5. Daily life should be regular and don't be too tired. Pay attention to rest and get enough sleep. Wear protective glasses when going out to avoid strong light stimulation. Avoid excessive exposure to infrared and ultraviolet rays. After using the eyes for a period of time, pay attention to relax and adjust to avoid eye fatigue.
