Patients with hypertension can drink in moderation

Patients with high blood pressure can drink in moderation. Dutch researchers have found that drinking one to two glasses of wine or beer a day can reduce the risk of heart attack in men with high blood pressure after 16 years of research, according to the US daily health news.

Drinking red wine for heart health has been common sense, but for patients with high blood pressure, wine has always been a high-voltage line, because of the fear that drinking will lead to high blood pressure, most people stay away from alcohol. But a study by Utrecht Medical College in the Netherlands found that men with high blood pressure who drank one glass of wine a day reduced their risk of heart disease by 32%, and those who drank one or two glasses a day reduced their risk of heart disease by 28%. This is because alcohol increases high-density cholesterol in the blood of men with high blood pressure.

But experts also warned that excessive alcohol consumption could raise the risk of high blood pressure and heart disease. And the study only involved men, it is not sure whether the results are suitable for women with hypertension.
