What is kavas

Kavas is a low alcohol beverage popular in Russia, Ukraine and other Eastern European countries. It is brewed by dry bread fermentation. Its color is similar to beer and slightly red. Because its alcohol content is only about 1%, kavas can also refer to black tea fungus in Russian cities.
