How to check the leakage of air conditioning refrigerant

In case of leakage of air conditioning refrigerant, check the evaporator, indoor unit, outdoor compressor, etc. There are many left and right interfaces of the evaporator, which is most prone to leakage. If there is oil stain at the connection of the indoor unit, it also indicates that the refrigerant is leaked. Finally, it is necessary to check the outdoor compressed U-shaped air pipe to see if the crack is too large.

1. Check the evaporator

Generally speaking, if the air conditioning refrigerant leaks, we should first check the left and right interfaces of the evaporator, because there are many welded interfaces near it, so it is most likely to leak.

2. Check indoor unit

The air conditioner can operate normally, but there is no cold air blowing out of the indoor unit. At this time, it is likely that the refrigeration system has failed. When carefully checking the connection of the indoor unit, if you find oil stains around, it means that the refrigerant here is leaking.

3. Check the outdoor compressor

Leakage of U-shaped gas pipe of outdoor compressor is a common situation, because most copper pipes are made of poor materials. After bending into U-shape, some cracks will inevitably appear on them. With the operation of compressor, these cracks will expand, resulting in refrigerant leakage. Therefore, it is very necessary to check this part during troubleshooting.
