According to the data released by the State Administration of immigration on January 4, in 2019, the national border inspection authorities inspected 670 million entry-exit personnel, with a year-on-year increase of 3.8%; and inspected 36.235 million entry-exit transportation vehicles, with a year-on-year increase of 3.4%. Throughout the year, 350 million mainland residents entered and left the country, 160 million Hong Kong, 53.587 million Macao and 12.278 million Taiwan residents went to and from the mainland, and 97.675 million foreigners went to and from the country.
