4hw.com.cn Beijing population and social development research center of Beijing Municipal Party school and Social Science Literature Publishing House recently jointly released "Beijing population Blue Book & middot; Beijing Population Development Research Report (2019), the blue book uses data released by Beijing Municipal Bureau of statistics, Civil Affairs Bureau and other relevant government departments and authoritative survey institutions to analyze the current situation and trend of population development in Beijing. The blue book shows that both the floating population and the permanent resident population in Beijing are declining.

According to the blue book, since 2015, the number of permanent migrant population in Beijing has been declining, reaching 8.226 million in 2015, 8.075 million in 2016, 7.943 million in 2017 and 7.646 million in 2018. Compared with the previous year, the number of permanent migrants in 2016, 2017 and 2018 decreased by 1.84%, 1.63% and 3.74% respectively, showing negative growth for three consecutive years.

With the reduction of the size of migrant population, the size of Beijing's permanent population showed a "two successive decline". In 2017 and 2018, the total number of permanent residents in Beijing was 21.707 million and 21.542 million, respectively, down 0.10% and 0.76% compared with the previous year. The blue book predicts that the goal of controlling the permanent population of Beijing to less than 23 million by 2020 will be achieved.

The blue book shows that since 2010, the proportion of children aged 0 to 14 and the elderly aged 65 and above in Beijing's permanent population has shown an upward trend. In 2018, the proportion of permanent children aged 0 to 14 in Beijing was 10.52%, 1.92 percentage points higher than that in 2010, with an average annual increase of 0.24 percentage points; the proportion of permanent residents aged 65 and above reached 11.21%, with an increase of 2.50 percentage points compared with 2010, with an average annual increase of 0.31%. The growth rate of the elderly population is significantly faster than that of the children population.

In 2018, the total dependency ratio of Beijing reached 27.75%, an increase of 6.81 percentage points compared with 2010. Since 2016, the number of births began to decline, and the rapid increase of the elderly population is the main reason for the continuous increase of the total dependency ratio. How to actively deal with the problem of population aging and adjust the population structure by formulating scientific public service policies is a long-term problem that Beijing needs to face for a long time now and in the future.

According to the data of the Municipal Bureau of statistics, the average life expectancy of Beijing population in 2018 reached 82.2 years, an increase of 2.0 years compared with 2010, which is equivalent to the level of high-income countries; in 2018, the proportion of permanent residents aged six years or above accounted for 38.88%, an increase of 6.04 percentage points compared with 2010. With the popularization of high school education and the popularization of higher education, with the advantages of high-quality medical care and education and other public resources, Beijing's population quality dividend has been further improved, which has become an important support for Beijing's high-quality development.

According to the blue book, in 2018, the permanent population of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei reached 112.701 million, accounting for 8.08% of the total population of the country, an increase of 1.277 million compared with 2015, an increase of 1.15%; among them, Hebei and Tianjin increased by 1.314 million and 126 thousand, respectively, with the growth rates of 1.78% and 0.81%, and that of Beijing decreased by 163 000, or 0.75%. In 2018, the population density of Beijing Tianjin Hebei region reached 523 people / km2, an increase of 1.39% compared with 2015; among them, Hebei Province had the largest increase, reaching 2.03%. Experts said that the continuous promotion of coordinated population development in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei has promoted the coordinated and healthy economic development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and the construction of world-class urban agglomerations in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei has taken shape.
