India's luckiest people are getting rich and lucky

Original title: India's luckiest man? 800000 dollar winner digs out antique coins

According to foreign media reports, an Indian man who won the lottery and won more than $800000 has dug up a pile of antique coins with a history of 100 years.

It is reported that Pillay was previously a sawmill operator. In January 2018, he won six million rupees (842000) in a lottery. He used part of the prize money to buy land in his hometown, kilimanoor, in Kerala, India.

The land is located next to an ancient temple of Krishna. Pilai not only harvested the vegetables he needed, but also happened to find a jar containing more than 2500 coins when he cultivated the land.

On closer inspection, he found that the coins came from the no longer existing kingdom of Travancore.

The coins, weighing more than 20 kg and made of silver, copper and gold, are believed to be about 100 years old. This currency was used before the introduction of the rupy paise system in India in 1949.

Pillay quickly informed the authorities of his astonishing findings. The treasure will be sent to the laboratory for cleaning because most coins have turned green due to oxidation. The panel will assess its value.

According to reports, the Indian government plans to reward Pillay for the ancient coins.
